YES, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE AMONG SHEET METAL UNIONS

When choosing a Union Contractor, compare apples to apples. Local 25 is a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association (SMWIA), affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The SMWIA is the oldest (est. 1888), largest and most respected sheet metal union, boasting 134,000 members and 205 locals throughout the U.S. and Canada. The SMWIA’s International Training Institute budget is over $7,000,000 a year for educational programs. No other sheet metal union even comes close. Local 25 Journeyperson are the beneficiaries; it shows in their training, and it'll show on your project. Need a Smacna Contractor who knows SMACNA specs inside and out? Local 25 has them.

THE BEST TRAINED PROFESSIONALS

The Sheet Metal Workers employed by our Contractors have completed a comprehensive four-year apprenticeship including over 700 hours of classroom instruction in addition to more than 8,000 hours of on-the-job instruction. Our journeypersons, unlike those from small independent unions or nonunion workers, will have been trained in virtually every facet of the field, from basic sheet metal techniques to emerging technologies of major importance like indoor air pollution control and advanced energy management.

While Local 25 professionals may specialize in a specific area (like copper roofing, for example), the cross-discipline education of their workers and the Union’s commitment to ongoing training means that our Contractors will always bring a broad, informed perspective to your project.
